Marcus….

is a Voice Teacher, Director and Teacher who is has a diverse skill set and experience in all areas of the Musical Theatre Arts.

Having graduated from the prestigious Arts Educational School in London with a BA (Hons) in Musical Theatre, Marcus went on to obtain a MA in Voice Pedagogy from the University of Wales, Trinity St Davids, and is mid way through his MA in Collaborative Theatre Practice at the Staffordshire University. In addition, Marcus is Estill Figure Proficient (EFP) Certified with Estill Voice international and is in his final year to qualify as an Estill Master Teacher (EMT). With these academic and practical qualifications Marcus has become a desirable facilitator for Musical Theatre and Drama Colleges across the UK and have worked at ArtsEd, Performers College, Mountview, Jelli Studios and EPA as a freelance faculty member, before becoming the Musical Theatre Programme Lead at Addict Dance Academy, the UK’s largest independent Conservatoire for Performing Arts Training, where he is currently resident.

Before focusing on developing his unique teacher style and approach to educating in an arts environment, Marcus was an experienced and accomplished performer working in Musical tours, plays, radio plays and voiceovers, taking the lead in Pantomimes, headlining cabarets and working on cruise ships across the world. These experiences have placed him perfectly to train the next generation of Performers.

In his current position Marcus has created a brand-new BA (hons) in Musical Theatre, accredited by the University of West London. In addition to leading the course, Marcus also Direct the Musical Productions for the course and delivers the singing & voice classes and curriculum.

With many historic and notable Conservatoires gaining funding for their students from academic bodies and institutions, Marcus’ professional performing experience, subject specific knowledge and academic qualifications, make him the well rounded practitioner that is required in the contemporary Drama College Model.

In addition to his current teaching post, Marcus still has a select private singing practice of industry professionals and recent graduates, and also works as a freelance Director. Marcus offers a series of one of workshops both online and in person, and has also led Team building & Experience days for many corporate companies.

Having sat on the audition panel for many colleges Marcus recently spotted a gap in the market for a strong and well balanced College Audition Preparation Course, and this is currently in development to be launched for Summer 2024.

Marcus is looking to begin his PHD in Theatre in 2024 and will be focussing on developing a book and online course that teaches Acting Through Song techniques.

Having an unrivalled passion and commitment to the performing arts for over 30 years, Marcus counts himself extremely lucky being able to do what he loves every day!
